Our school is a School-Wide Positive Behaviour School (SWPBS). We teach and practice our three Newbee values: ‘Be a learner’, ‘Be Respectful’ and , ‘Be Safe’.

We call these values our ‘Newbee Values’ and they were developed by students and staff over a period of time. We are always looking forward to ways to incorporate these values into our teaching and learning.

Being a SWPBS school has enourmous rewards for our school community. It forces all of us to name, acknowledge and teach positive and productive behaviours.

We also are a part of the Better Buddies Program, an intiative with The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, where students from senior classes are paired with a junior students and share regular buddy activities.

Lunchtime Activities

One of the key ways we support children to learn positive behaviours is by running structured activities at lunchtimes.  This year we have a wide range of activities in place.  The Peers as Leaders (PALS) program is an innovative program where senior children are trained to organise and facilitate games and activities across the school. PALS runs on Tuesday and Thursday.  Other programs include The Friendship Shop, The Lounge, Computer club, Lunchtime basketball, World Series Cricket, Gardening and Choir.  Children are invited to participate in one or a number of these activites during the week.
